Richard Friedman is responsible for the business development process for Greystar’s Southern California region which includes lead development, predevelopment consulting, underwriting, market assessment and strategic planning for both potential and new assets under management. Prior to joining Greystar, Richard held the role as Vice President for Riverstone Residential Group in both an operational and client services capacity.

He started his career in property management in 1994 with R&B Apartment Management Company, and in 1996, he joined Trammell Crow Residential Services, which transitioned into Riverstone Residential Group. During his tenure, he has conducted the lease-up of over 7,000 units in California and has experience in extensive rehabilitation projects, stabilized asset performance and lease-up product. As a Vice President in California, Richard previously oversaw a portfolio of 6,000+ units, 32 properties and 6 Regional Managers. He has directed and coordinated all phases of property management functions within the portfolio, including property operations, financial planning, product merchandising and due diligence for third party acquisitions and management transitions.

Richard earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Miami, FL.
