Marvin Banks oversees a multifamily real estate investment platform oriented toward arbitrage opportunities creating outsized returns. He is well-known for his leadership skills, complex decision analysis and strategic planning capabilities. He has more than 30 years of experience in real estate, including having served as COO for Storage Post, as the President of Cortland Partners, where he remains a corporate advisor, and with over 15 years in executive leadership positions for Gables Residential, where he was CFO, a member of Executive Committee and was instrumental in the company’s IPO, M&A activity and the ultimate $2.8 billion sale of the company to ING Clarion in 2005. He has also served as a partner with Trammell Crow Residential and with Ernst & Young. Marvin was a founding director of Private Bank of Buckhead and was instrumental in its merger with NCOM at the highest valuation achieved in 2016. He is Chairman of BluTrend, a leading technology firm focused on back office automation for multifamily real estate firms and he is a founding advisor for Package Solutions, a technology driven startup targeting package delivery solutions in the multifamily arena. He is Chairman of the Board of the Children’s Museum of Atlanta and is on the board of the Georgia Council for International Visitors. He teaches graduate courses on REITs at Emory University, has been on the faculty at The University of Texas at Austin and taught for a number of years at Georgia State University in graduate and doctoral programs. Marvin is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting.
