William Van Senus is a senior vice president with the Acquisitions and Development group of full-service real estate firm Draper and Kramer, Incorporated. An industry veteran who joined Draper and Kramer in 1989, Van Senus has a wide-reaching career encompassing a broad range of multifamily work and specializing in redevelopment and substantial rehabilitations, adaptive reuse and acquisitions. range of multifamily experience and specializes in multifamily redevelopment e and acquisitions.

In his current role, Van Senus oversees Draper and Kramer’s large-scale redevelopment projects, with involvement in financing, legal, zoning and entitlements, construction, design, asset management and marketing. Most recently, he led the team that completed the two-year, $40 million renovation of Wheaton Center, a six-building, 758-unit apartment community in Wheaton, Ill. Other projects have included the $30 million renovation of 1130 S. Michigan, a 656-unit high-rise apartments tower in Chicago, and the $12 million renovation and repositioning of Fieldpointe of St. Louis, a 318-unit rental property in the suburbs of St. Louis. Van Senus was also instrumental in establishing Draper and Kramer as a leader in condo conversions during the mid-1990s and early 2000s, managing the conversion of nearly 3,000 units across Illinois, Florida, Massachusetts and Virginia. Notable projects include the $30 million historic renovation of Parris Landing, a 356-unit condominium conversion of a 150-year-old property on Boston Harbor in the Boston Naval Shipyard. Early in his career with Draper and Kramer, Van Senus held various positions within the company’s rental management group, initially running a regional office in Houston prior to heading up the group overall and, later, leading the firm’s Asset Management division.

Prior to his tenure with Draper and Kramer, Van Senus spent 12 years working in acquisitions and development for a small Midwest-based real estate firm. A member of the National Multifamily Housing Council and the Chicago chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management, Van Senus is a graduate of Indiana University with both a bachelor’s degree and an MSBA
