John Kinzelberg

John has over twenty three years of professional experience in real estate and private equity, with thirteen years in all facets of the multifamily business, including acquisitions, dispositions, development, finance and asset management. Before co-founding Highgate Capital Group in 2013, John was a Vice President in the acquisition and asset management groups at Waterton Associates, a national multifamily investment advisor for some of the largest pension funds, endowments and Wall Street banks in the country. Prior to Waterton, John was a Senior Manager at Mesirow Stein Real Estate, at the time one of the largest and most established residential and commercial developers in Chicago.

John received a master’s in Business Administration from Columbia University in 2001 and a bachelor’s in Economics, with Distinction, from Cornell University, in 1994. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors of SGA Youth & Family Services, a nonprofit organization that supports the emotional and social development of Chicago’s most at-risk youth and their families.
