Harris Haston is a founder and principal of the Carter-Haston Funds and Carter Haston Real Estate Services, headquartered in Nashville. Carter-Haston manages a series of self-sponsored multifamily equity funds which acquire and operate multi-family communities. The company has been investing for more than 25-years and operates in 14 states and 35 markets. It’s current AUM portfolio is approximately $1.3 billion.

Mr. Haston leads financing and capitalization of investment partnerships, coordinates acquisition and disposition transactions, and financial reporting and documentation, and is a senior member of his company’s investment committee. Before founding Carter-Haston with Marc Carter in 1987, Mr. Haston was owner and president of a firm which provided development-consulting services to banks and other institutional investors, and developed income-producing properties for its own account. From 1979 to 1984, Mr. Haston served as president of the Fintech Group, Inc., a diversified real estate corporation with business interests in Tennessee, Massachusetts, and South Carolina.

He began his career in 1976 in the real estate division of a major regional bank where his primary responsibility was ORE workouts from the 1974-1976 real estate recession. He serves on the Buffalo Bill Center of the West board of trustees, Cody, WY, is a member of the board for the Middle Tennessee Council Boy Scouts of America and along with his wife, is engaged in a number of community activities supporting Wyoming and Tennessee education and arts. He is a member of the board of the National Multifamily Housing Council, PREA and the Nashville Rotary Club. Mr. Haston graduated from the Baylor School, Chattanooga and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Finance.
