Sam Charney is a real estate professional whose project planning, design / development skills, construction management, general contracting and development experience make him one of New York City’s most respected and dynamic young developers. Since 2004 he has developed over 1 million square feet of commercial office space and just under 1 million square feet of residential apartments for Two Trees Management Co. LLC and his own company Charney Construction & Development LLC.
During his time with Two Trees, Sam and his team were entrusted with the company’s Brooklyn acquisitions and lead them from acquisition through the approvals and design development process all the way to lease up / sales.
Sam has been featured and interviewed by several of the industry’s leading publications, and is a guest lecturer at the Schack Institute of Real Estate at New York University. In 2006, he won Brooklyn Building Awards for West Elm and Waterfront Media, and took home an additional award for 164 Atlantic in 2008. In 2012 Sam was awarded the prestigious NYU Bart Lawson Award for Humanitarianism for his work with blind athletes.
