Chuck Leitner

Mr. Leitner is the CEO of Berkshire Group, a real estate investment management company primarily known for its multifamily investment and operational experience. He is a member of Berkshire’s Board of Directors, the Chairman of the Operating Committee, and serves on the Investment Committees. Previously he served as Chairman and President of the former REIT, Berkshire Income Realty, Inc. He has been with Berkshire since 2013.

Mr. Leitner is an experienced executive, with over three decades in real estate and investment management. Prior to Berkshire Group, Mr. Leitner served as Chairman and CEO of the ULI Greenprint Center for Building Performance and as a member of the advisory board for SVP Global, a hedge fund manager specializing in distressed debt investments. Earlier, Mr. Leitner spent 24 years at RREEF, a global real estate investment management business and a division of Deutsche Asset Management, serving in a variety of roles, including Global Head (Chief Executive Officer) and Chairman. He helped build the firm into one of the leading real estate and alternative asset investment advisors with $80 billion in assets under management. Prior to RREEF, Mr. Leitner held positions in real estate investment and finance with GE Capital in Chicago, and TIAA/CREF in New York. Additionally, he served as a director for Dexus, a listed property trust in Australia, and DB Real Estate Investment GmbH, a German-based manager of global real estate funds. He is a trustee of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) as well as a member and past board director of the Pension Real Estate Association.

Mr. Leitner received a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.
