Mr. Brand is Executive Director of Development. Mr. Brand joined Greystar in 2011 and is responsible for multifamily development in the Western Region including the California, Northwest and Arizona. Mr. Brand has sourced, structured and negotiated in excess of $12B of apartment transactions during his real estate career. Prior to joining Greystar Mr. Brand served from March 2009 through June 2011 as Managing Director at Pacific Urban Residential, an apartment developer and investor focusing exclusively in the California and Pacific Northwest. From 1989 through March 2009 Mr. Brand was Managing Director of Western Development and Capital Markets at Fairfield Residential.

Mr. Brand is a graduate of Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut (Bachelor of Science, 1975) and John Marshall Law School, Chicago, Illinois (Juris Doctor, 1979). Mr. Brand is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the National Multifamily Housing Council. Mr. Brand is co-founder of the University of California Athletic Advisory Council and currently serves on its Board of Directors. Mr. Brand also serves as a member on the UCSD Real Estate and Development Board. In 2018, UCSD has established a new major in Real Estate.
