Steve Patterson is President and Chief Executive Officer of Related Development, LLC. Mr. Patterson, who joined the company in 2010, is responsible for all new multifamily rental development activities for the company. Related is active in market rate rental, luxury condo and affordable housing and also pursues investment in value add acquisitions, in all income property sectors. The company has over 4,000 multi-family units currently under construction and has closed investment transactions totaling over $600 million in the last two years.

With 30 years of professional experience within the real estate industry, Mr. Patterson has held ownership and management positions in the development, investment syndication, asset management, property management, and construction fields. These activities included multifamily, office, retail, condominiums and hotel properties, primarily in the southeastern U.S. Steve has an established track record of profitable real estate investment ventures totaling over $2 billion in value.

Prior to joining Related, Mr. Patterson served as CEO and President of ZOM Holding, Inc., a prominent multifamily development and management company focusing primarily in the Southeastern U.S. Since inception, he managed the growth of ZOM and their 400+ employees, realizing the development of over 10,000 multifamily units and a management portfolio of 20,000 apartments. ZOM has been recognized by the National Association of Homebuilders as both the Development and Property Management “Company of the Year”. Prior to his career at ZOM, Mr. Patterson held management positions for Picerne Development and Huber Hunt and Nichols, overseeing development, property management and construction functions in Texas and Florida.

Mr. Patterson is a State of Florida licensed real estate broker and Building Contractor. He served as President of the N.A.H.B. Multifamily Leadership Board and serves on the University of Miami Real Estate Masters Advisory Board. He is frequently published in trade journals and has been invited twice to testify before Chairman Bernanke and the Federal Reserve Board to address housing industry matters. Mr. Patterson graduated from Oklahoma State University with degrees in Engineering Technology and Construction Management.
