Brian Mutchler

Mr. Mutchler is a Senior Vice President & Co-Head of Asset Management at Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, LLC. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Committee and is in charge of the firm’s sustainability initiatives. Additionally, Mr. Mutchler is the portfolio manager for Harrison Street’s second opportunistic fund. Brian specializes in the development, asset management, and disposition of the firm’s healthcare real estate assets.

During his tenure at Harrison Street, Mr. Mutchler has asset-managed over 50 medical properties containing over 3.8 million square feet of medical office, specialty hospital, inpatient rehabilitation and surgery center assets leased by some of the premier health systems in the nation. Brian has successfully monetized 32 healthcare facilities totaling over $500 million since joining the firm. Mr. Mutchler is also is responsible for the oversight of 15 senior housing communities consisting of over 2,000 units spread across the acuity spectrum including independent living, assisted living, and memory care units and has sold 20 of the firm’s senior housing communities during his tenure at Harrison Street.

Prior to joining Harrison Street, Mr. Mutchler was a Director at TIAA-CREF Global Real Estate where he was responsible for the asset management of a portfolio of institutional-grade office and industrial properties in Northern California and Denver. Before joining TIAA-CREF, Mr. Mutchler was an Underwriting Manager at KBS Realty Advisors where he was responsible for underwriting office and industrial acquisitions in 2003-2006.

Mr. Mutchler received a B.B.A with a double-major in Real Estate & Urban Land Economics and Marketing from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
